Moral Education

The school fosters students’ independence, kindness, mercy, tolerance, confidence and self care through daily life practice. Parental activities in charity events and social services to experience the happiness of helping others are encouraged. Extra-curricular activities like visits to science museum, post office, supermarket, farm, etc. are arranged. Children’s learning interest can be stimulated by taking part in school activities and experiencing the society.

• Moral education is instilled in students’ everyday life. Students are required to keep regular hours of study and rest, and morning exercises are arranged to strengthen their physical fitness.

Bilingual Education

English Language

English is the first language in school. Through games and project-based learning to interact, to explore, to observe and to think, children’s language ability will be stimulated. Although children are studying in China, they are surrounded by an English speaking environment which offers them chances to use English.

Authentic English teaching materials are used to help students learn how to communicate and deal with real-life situations in the United States and other English-speaking countries. Interactive activities and learning tasks are designed to simulate everyday life abroad.

Chinese Language

Games and project-based learning are adopted in the learning of Chinese. Through active exploration, students are motivated to think and are willing to express. Meanwhile, children’s reading and speaking abilities are developed through picture books reading, sharing as well as “Corner Time” activities.

Online reading and speaking games are adopted in the learning of Chinese, which stimulates students’ interests to think and express. Martial arts, tea ceremony and Chinese traditional music are taught and Chinese festivals celebration activities are held to deepen students’ understanding of the traditional Chinese culture.

Innovation Education

Maths & Logic

Through hands-on activities by integrating abstract mathematical and logical concepts into maths games, deductive reasoning, data collection, problem solving, presentations and other approaches, children can realize the mystery of maths. Besides, the conceptual frames will be materialized for cognitive reinforcement purpose. By means of these two approaches, children’s maths and logic intelligences can be fostered.

Diversified math activities which integrate knowledge of other subjects are adopted to teach students to solve math problems in daily life. Games, models and videos are used to foster students’ strong sense in number, symbol, space and measurement. Group work is highly valued in the learning process.

Science & Technology

Children will be guided to carry out scientific exploration, to experience the science in life and to realize the achievements brought to human life by science and technology. At the same time, children are encouraged to observe the nature, to care about the surroundings, and to explore the mystery of nature from a scientific point of view.

In Creative Design and Technology Center, Creative Media and Art Center and Creative Learning and STEM Library, students will learn science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) and integrate interdisciplinary knowledge to conduct Computer Assisted Design (CAD), Computer Assisted Manufacturing (CAM) and Computer Multimedia Production. Students can design and produce their own robots, electronic musical instruments, clocks, toys, decorations, animations, films, etc. It nurtures students’ ability to create and innovate.

All-round Education

Art & Music

Project-based learning is carried out through music, dancing, drawing and other different forms of art activities. It helps children understand and respect the diversity of culture and arts, and helps develop open and wide perspectives.

To stimulate students’ musical and art talents, in regular music lessons and regular art lessons, each student is required to join one of the orchestras and one of the art teams respectively. Orchestras include Brass band, String band, Chinese orchestra and Percussion band. Art teams include photography club, movie club, dance club, drama club, etc. In addition, in extra-curricular activities arranged after regular lessons, each student is required to take part in one or two musical specialized trainings and art specialized trainings respectively. Physical Education

Good health is the foundation of all kinds of learning. Children will enjoy various physical activities every day. Children’s physical fitness can be enhanced through physical education.

To enhance students’ physical fitness, each student is required to join one of the sports teams in regular sports lessons, including golf team, tennis team, volleyball team, basketball team, etc. In extra-curricular activities arranged after regular lessons, each student is required to take part in one or two sports specialized trainings. Options include golf, tennis, martial arts, swimming, basketball, etc.
